How do I touch the screen to get spelling corrections instead of FORMAT CUT COPY?

I have a Blackberry Priv, so I have turned spell auto-correct off (when you have a real keyboard, who needs a spell checker that guesses wrong so often?) But I still need spelling correction once in a while. So when I have a word with a red squiggly line under it, I touch the word, and sometimes I get a list of corrections. But sometimes I get FORMAT CUT COPY and there is no touch I can figure out that gives me the list of spell correct words.

I have not been able to figure out what's the difference between the touch that gives me spelling corrections vs the touch that gives me FORMAT CUT COPY.

Can you tell me how to disambiguate the touch command?

By the way, I love my Blackberry Priv, except the touch screen. Touch screens are totally losing.
