I just got my phone back after the infamous boot loop of upgrading to 7.0. Google was awful with their customer service and LG took care of the problem (Official records said the issue was flash memory). Now I'm afraid to upgrade to 7.1.1 and I was wondering if anyone is/was in the same boat as me and what they did and if their solution worked or not.

Did you check your baseband number before and after the fix? The normal "fix" is to update the phone with the latest update, which fixes the bug in the previous one. Each update carrier its own risks for bugs. (At least with Google you don't have the manufacturers and carriers adding their own bugs to updates.)
