Why won't my LG G2 turn on or charge?

[AC Question]

My LG G2 phone is about a year old now. I've had no problems but today it was working perfectly fine then i went to check it and it was completely off but it wasn't dying. I've tried to hold down the power button and it turns on to the LG screen then turns back off. I've tried to charge it and the same thing happens the LG screen turns on then it turns back off and doesn't charge. Please help don't want to lose this phone

First, have the battery checked. It may simply be that.
