how do you eliminate text messages from your e-mail?

Each time I receive a text message it shows up on my e-mail account. I would like to break this link.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which carrier do you have? Open your email app, tap Menu>Settings, select your email account, and look for a Sync SMS option.
