    You need to clarify what you mean by "sms card".
    The SIM card controls the phone's communication with the cellular network. This includes the SMS messaging.
    Your SMS messages are stored in a database in the system area of the internal storage of the phone.
    If you are using an SMS backup app, the app could be saving the backups to your internal storage or your SD card, depending on the app.
