Alcatel One Touch Flint (Cricket) Phone number change issue

Hi guys,
I own an Alcatel One Touch Flint for Cricket Wireless. I recently requested a phone number change from them and ever since then I have not been able to receive text messages. I don't want to have to completely factory reset the phone if I don't have to. I've rebooted it, turned it off with the SIM card removed for about 5 minutes (battery cannot be removed). I'm not sure what else I can try. The only text messages I receive are the automated ones from Cricket. In case it matters, I am using a third party texting app, Textra.

Are you sure that your contacts are sending the text messages to your new phone number? (Simple thing, but they could still have your old phone number in their contacts lists.)
