my phone doesn't have a unlock effect setting

I had the effect be for I updated my phone to marshmallow on any of my own pictures and never had a problem but now that i updated my phone I don't see the option to do any effect

Sounds like they removed that option in the update. You could try wiping your system cache partition via recovery mode and see if that has any revolve to it.
