BLU Life XL Phone fully charged - showing 100% - at 9am. No calls, one web search (less than one minute) and by 2:45 I only have 18% of the battery life left. Bought a new battery and the same things happens, EVERY day. Has anyone else had this problem and/or a solution for it?

What do your battery usage stats show after such a discharge?
Also, what is your signal strength?

Battery usage shows 100% at 11:00am and a steady decline showing it will be empty by 5:30 if I don't use it. Signal strength is full, I'm connected to my home system currently.

Actually it just dropped to 20% by checking the usage....

Battery also takes FOREVER to charge. From 10pm to 10am only got to 96%, took another hour to get to 100%.

Okay, but I meant what do the stats indicate as using all that charge?

Apparently Google services was using 51% so I shut that down to see what the impact would be. Do you think that will help or did I just screw up?

I appreciate your help and am sorry if I'm slow on the uptake. Recovering from a concussion and still get a little "lost" at times.....

No, not at all. All questions are welcome at Android Central....even ones such as mine, shortly after joining, and without the excuse of a post-concussive state: "What does the 'I/O' in 'Google I/O' stand for?" 🙂

I think that the best thing in your case would be to charge fully, use the phone as normally as you can until the battery charge is down to about 30%, then make a screenshot of your battery usage stats, and post the screenshot. If we start from there, it will make it easier to diagnose the problem.
Here's how to post a screenshot if you're not sure:

I'd also recommend turning Google Services back on.

Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

    1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
    2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
    3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
    4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

Why won't my BLU Life XL phone hold a battery charge for more than a few hours?-screenshot_2017-02-21-11-18-20.png

I'm not sure if the screenshot attachment will work (couldn't find the paperclip tab) but here it is. Sorry I couldn't get it to you yesterday but I went out to do some yard work when the battery was showing 47% and when I came in two hours later it was completely dead.

    Are you using Google Now?

No, that's the thing I hardly use my phone at all these days....

Could you tap the Google App listing in the battery usage stats, to open it? There may be clues therein. Mine, for example, looks like this:

Gasp! Why Google App should be running continuously like that I don't know. If it were Google Play Services, I could understand it. For the time being, Force Stop. I'll pass this to others for suggestions about what may be causing it.

Just take a look in Settings, Location, and make sure it's not set to GPS or High Accuracy.

Thanks! It was set on High Accuracy - I don't even know what that means - and I put it on battery saver instead.

Also, go to Settings>Apps, select the Google app, then Storage, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now see if it still uses up that much battery.

    Hi guys,

The Google app turned itself back on and drained my battery in two hours. I just put it on the charger and uninstalled the app, was this the right thing to do?

    Thanks!

Is the Location setting still on Battery Saving?
