Why my HTC EYE has started lagging behind after trying to root it ?

hey, guys hope you all are doing well. I have really a great trouble over here on my phone. My phone is HTC EYE AT&T prepaid cell. I tried to root it. Root it didn't happen anyway instead now my phone is so much lagging behind when I click a button it will give response after 5 seconds. I have reset hard factory reset more than 3 times but didn't help. Please help me, I am not at all in the mood to buy a new phone.
