Why are ALL videos playing with a 5 second lag?

For some reason, all videos play (this happens in all apps), then the video will pause while the audio continues. When the video resumes, there's a lag between audio and video. This has only just started happening recently. I've tried going to the developer options as mentioned on some other threads, but there's no option for NuVideo as described. Any suggestions?
