What apps and games can I play / How to do I make my phone run faster?

So I have a Galaxy S Aviator. Here's the specs below (If that matters):
Firmware version: 2.3.6
Model Number: SCH - R930 (What I believe has the greatest specs of all the galaxy s1's)

I know this is a REALLY old phone. But i like it's novelty. I'm wondering what apps / games it can run with few bumps, I already know that Asphalt 5 works well.

My second question is how to make it possibly faster. I've heard of people downloading Android 4 on the phone, but I don't know if it's worth the risk.

You reminded me of the old days ... 5 years ago ...thanks for making these memories coming alive again.
I've managed one day to install android ICS on my OLD galaxy I9000 without bugs or crashes (I think it was SlimICS ROM ).
but if this is the first time for you it'll be so tough,however there are several guides over the internet -hundreds actually- how to install ICS on S1 just follow them precisely.
