So my phone shut off on me yesterday, ( I have an "Alcatel one touch idol 3") and I turned it back on to see that it showed 0% and a red exclamation point inside the battery meter, the weird thing is the phone stayed on for several hours after this. Now I've charged it overnight and it appears to be working normally (other than that it shows 0% and the red !). Obviously it would be nice to know how much battery I have left. Any ideas what could cause that? I'm using Alcatel's build of 6.0.1. Thanks in advance for any help

Welcome to Android Central! Try recalibrating the battery sensor software by charging up overnight, then using it normally until it shuts off automatically from low battery. Then charge up fully again, and see if it reports correctly now.
