why am i getting a red on battery icon

[AC Question]

why do i get a red x on the battery icon on my galaxy tablet when i plug it up to certain things. I have the origional charger that came with it. I have two laptops my tablets will charge on one laptop but not the other. it also does not charge on my ps4.

Welcome to Android Central! Those ports might not be providing enough current. Does this happen when you plug it into a wall outlet?
