How to clean install Nougat and backup apps/profile?

Hello. Pretty sure, in a few days, my phone is going to have Nougat update.
I prefer to make a clean install, instead of just update. How can I make? Hard reset with Power + Home and Factory Settings?
And how can I backup my app list and other things? Is Settings>Backup enough?

It's a pain in the butt to reset! But if you must, smartswitch on a pc should back stuff up. There's also the cloud.....
