I use to be able to open my email in yahoo app and save images directly to download folder in my gallery. Now they are not showing up. They are going to download history in my file folder. But when I click on the image I can not save it to my gallery either. How can I get the images to save directly to my gallery?

Welcome to Android Central! The Gallery is not a location -- it's an app that shows images from anywhere on your storage, as long as that directory doesn't contain a file called ".nomedia".

Use a file manager app to look for those downloads. Are they actually in the Download directory, or elsewhere? The Download directory is not necessarily the same as the Download History folder in your file manager app. Use your file manager app's option to directly explore the phone's storage, so that you can see the actual directory structure.
