No notification on some messages

[AC Question]

I no longer get notifications when I get a message from my husband. I've noticed that the sound icon next to his messages has the slash thru it, but I don't know how that happened and I can't figure out how to undo it. I've gone through notifications settings but no help there. Suggestions?
