Hi, recently noticed a funny logo or animation appearing whilst my YouTube videos are loading. I don't think i can post a picture to show, but I'll describe. It's a red and white striped bear shaped animation in the centre of the screen that morphs into several different animals. Sorry i can't describe it any better.

Welcome to the forums. I just peeked at my own YouTube app and didn't see anything like that. Does it happen on all your videos?

Ive started to notice this too today and was also afraid of possible malware. the icons change from animal to animal

Oh, and when I rolled back the app version (hit uninstall in google play) it went away. When I re-updated it, it came back so it seems it has something to do with the newest version of youtube app?

Interesting. I'm on version 12.05.53. I've noticed nothing new on that.

Those are new animations that replaced the spinning circle when loading a video on a slow connection. It seems to show up only when the video starts loading and not when buffering in the middle. There are different models, origami, castle, skipping rope ...

Very interesting! I was gonna that those images look "YouTube-ish"... An interesting new addition! Glad it's not anything bad. :)

I guess I didn't see that due to when I tested the app, I was on my home wifi, and have a pretty fast speed. I usually don't need to wait for a video to load. Due to a data limit set by AT&T, I try not to watch videos when away from home.

Thank you everyone for your help! Such a welcoming and positive forum. I'm inclined to think it is a new YouTube update, as the Colorado scheme suits, but the morphing origami animals are abit weird! Many thanks, peace and good vibes
