My J7 Prime finger print unlocking system is not responding

My J7 Prime finger print unlocking system is asking for a password, the password Im putting in says its incorrect. What should I do? It doesn't give me an option to reset the password & the phone is locked I cant access anything what should I do. I switched it off & still nothing

Welcome to Android Central! The backup password is the one you created when you set up the fingerprint unlock, and the same one it periodically asks you for added security (like when you power the phone on from a powered off state). You're entering that one?
