Why are old pictures showing up as new pictures in my photo gallery

My gallery photos are sorted by date. The last 2 days specific pictures, I took two weeks ago are showing up as new. One picture I don't recognize at all was added to my photo gallery. They are very specific pictures of my wedding dress and wedding ring. Also a few random pictures.

Welcome to Android Central! Photos in your Gallery aren't always ones you took yourself. Any image saved to your phone's storage can show up in the Gallery, as long as the directory they're in doesn't contain a file called ".nomedia". It could be an image from a text message you received, or from some other messaging or social media app. In the Gallery, select one of those photos, then tap the Info button, and tell us what directory it's located in.
