Nougat Update kills Voice Recorder

[AC Question]

The "Update" to Android 7 appears to have killed the Voice Recorder App. It now refuses to launch - just giving me a blank white screen and causing the phone to freeze up for 30 seconds before it finally comes back with a message "Voice Recorder has stopped." I have tried restarting, checked the app settings, cleared the cache, and rebooted the phone, and cannot get this app to launch anymore. Anyone have a solution? Or if not, since Nougat has in general degraded my apps and my battery life is there a way to get a factory image for Marshmellow 6.0.1 for a verizon phone - (SM-G930V) - the sites I've found so far do not have it for this specific phone.
