why is my screen darkened and locked on my galaxy s6 active

There was an icon that looked something like a message notification but when I touched it my screen darkened a bit and locked up. The mechanical buttons still work but nothing on the screen works.

Hi,

from what i found could be two reasons. Mostly its a software problem. Rarely its screen on the device is defective.


Have you tried locating the volume up button and the home button and power button. Press all 3 together. HOld them for 15 seconds until you see the android guy. Once the menu shows up select the reboot system now option .

If that does not work then you can also try the following i found online
delete the cache of the phone.

press the volume up, home and power buttons until the message shows up. After that, use the volume down button to go to the ‘Wipe Cache Partition’ option and press the power button to select it.

Once that is done, select the ‘Reboot System Now’ option to reboot the system. Remember- Do take caution while selecting the option. If you select on the ‘Wipe Data/Factory Reset’ option even by mistake, your all data will get erased.
