Minor problem with telephone app since the nougat update

[AC Question]

You can't see the call timer during call. You used to see a status that would say "dialing" and then you'd see the call timer start once the call went through. Also the whole background is white when using the phone app. Very hard to look at and it may be the reason you can't see that status anymore, because the text may be whit also.
