Texting with multiple people from a single contact

[AC Question]

The way I set up my contacts is I put husband and wife on a single contact.

Typical Contact Entry:
Title:
Jane and John Doe

Phone Numbers:
Jane Doe: 212-555-1212
John Doe: 212-555-2323.

Address:
XXX Street,
New York , NY 10001

When I text with one of them I see the name of the single contact entry at the top of Messaging+. ie. Jane Doe
BUT...
When I text with two or more people from a single contact, I just see the title of the contact. Like if I want to text with both Jane Doe, and John Doe at the same time I see only: John and Jane Doe. at the top.
I can't tell which of the two persons in the single contact is answering at each text line.

I tried both Messaging and Messaging+.
Does anyone have a suggestion? What I want to see is the name of the texter next to the text entry.

This works fine by the way in a group text when all the texters have their own contact entries because I see an icon next to each texter's entry.

Welcome to Android Central! The best solution would be to split up that couple's contact into two separate contacts.
