Alternative to Receiving SMS Messages

I live in a mobile blackspot with an 8km radius. Is there a way of receiving text messages via the internet?

If your phone supports it, and if your carrier allows it, and if you have wifi at home, try turning on the "wifi calling" feature and see if that routes your SMS messages through the wifi system like it does the phone calls.
