There are many PDF files on my phone that I can't open because they are password protected. I am trying to clear space and want to delete them but want to know if they are before I trash something needed

Did you download them, or did an app automatically do it for you?

What is the complete path to the folder that these PDF files are in?
This will probably give a good indication as to what downloaded them and how safe it is to delete them.

I couldn't tell because the path was shortened, but just found another way to see the full path.
The files are downloaded from a digital magazine.
Thanks for the clue and help!

If the digital magazine uses its own app to view the magazine contents, it probably locks the files to prevent distribution outside of the app.

Assuming there is an app, its settings may contain options for deleting old contents.
