Why is there a purple streak and a ridge in my selfie mode on galaxy s7

I just got this phone a few days ago. The very first selfie picture I took had a purple streak and a ridge that looks like a water mark. I realize now that the purple streak and Ridge are on the screen when you take the pic and they are in the resulting pic. The regular camera works, but not selfie mode. I tried using camera in different apps but the problem persists. Also I tried clearing cache in settings and of course rebooting.
