There are several apps in the Play Store that allow you to change which DNS addresses your phone will use, just do a search for something like 'DNS change'. Most of them have already have presets for various public DNS addresses. If you already know which ones you want to use and want to manually enter them you need to go into your Settings >> Wi-Fi and select the SSID you're connected to. Don't know the exact configuration of your G3 but on my Samsung I need to long-press on the SSID name to access a 'Modify network config' contextual menu, then check a 'Show advanced options' check box to get a series of options that include changing the default DNS. I'm assuming your LG should have a similar way to access that setting.
If you're not sure what DNS addresses you want to change to, take a look at 'DNS Benchmark' from Gibson Research or maybe 'NameBench' from Google. Both utilities require a computer and will let you determine optimum public DNS addresses available in your specific locale.
