Why is my touch screen not working properly

I have to press hard on my touch screen to work some times and press a few times on the app before i can open them but then some time it works fine

What type of phone is it? Have you tried simply restarting the phone? Was the phone exposed to moisture or dropped? What steps have you taken to resolve the problem? Are you getting any error messages?
