Why does my screen not light up every time

[AC Question]

Samsung A3. When it''s switched itself off after not using it for a while I then press my home button or my on/off to bring it back to life. Sometimes it lights up straight away, other times it stays dark. I can just make out that it''s come on but it''s too dark to do anything. After a while it just comes back to bright again. Can it be fixed?

Welcome to Android Central! It might be a problem with the proximity sensor. Do you have a case or screen protector on? If so, make sure they aren't blocking the sensor (which is right near the front-facing camera).
