Note 4 asks me to enter a PIN to get rid of the swipe lockscreen

[AC Question]

I've been using Note 4 ever since it was released and i never had problems with the lockscreen until couple days ago. I went into my settings to change my lockscreen from swipe to none. But I had to enter in a PIN to get rid of the swipe, which I have never set up before. I tried doing everything, including clearing credentials (which was greyed out) but I cant get rid of the PIN. Can I please get some help?
