How do I know if my phone has a virus?

A

AC Question

I have been receiving messages from multiple people saying multimedia message and prompting me to download. I haven't touched them but I am trying to determine if my phone has the virus or the other people's phone has it. They are not seeing any of these messages as sent. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know

If you don't know these people sending you the messages, then they are just spam being sent to random phone numbers.
Report them to your carrier; add them to your block list.

Group texts are sent as MMS messages. MMS is sent via 3G/4G mobile data, so if your mobile data isn't turned on, then you'll get these messages when someone responds in the group text.

If your mobile data is turned on, but you're still getting these messages, then check the settings of the messaging app and make sure it's set to automatically download MMS messages.
