Nexus 7 froze, now it won't turn on

AC Question

I'm pretty sure the thing had been dieing for ages, but this is a first.
it froze up while i was drawing in Autodesk Sketchbook, but that app had never had any major problems before. i put it into sleep mode, but when i opened it back up it would only show the time it froze and the battery it froze at in the corner, with a blank, black screen. it wouldn't do anything else, even after trying to power down or sleep-waking it up a few times. i left it on to try to let the battery die so i could open it back up from fresh. it would still sleep after a bit, at least.
i opened it back up the next morning, but it wouldn't turn on - not even the backlight. i tried charging it back up, but the battery thing didn't even show.
Help?

Welcome to Android Central! Charge it on a wall outlet overnight, then try powering on by pressing and holding Power for at least 10-15 seconds.
