I forgot my pin password how can i unlock my phone?

Good morning and welcome to Android Central.

If you've set up a Google account on your HTC Desire 510 and you're unable to remember the screen lock, enter a lock pattern or code until your phone states that you must wait before additional attempts. After the notification is cleared, a Forgot pattern/pin button appears. Tap this button and enter the Google™ account credentials associated with your phone. After the correct credentials are entered, you can create a new lock pattern or pin and regain access to your phone.
If the Google account password or username is not known, they must be reset via the internet.

If you didn't set up a Google account, I'm afraid your only option is a factory reset.
