Contacts without screen

[AC Question]

Hi,
I have a samsung phone (I think s1) and the screen is broken.
I need to backup the contacts from this phone.
When Im trying to connect it to pc I dont find a folder with the contacts.
Kies dont recognize the phone..
How can I backup the contacts?

Welcome to Android Central! If the contacts are saved to the local Phone account only, then they're in an SQLite database in a protected system directory, so you can't access them easily. Since Kies doesn't recognize the phone, your best bet is probably to get the screen replaced. On the off chance that you saved your contacts to the Google account, go to contacts.google.com on your desktop browser -- do you see them there?

In the future, I would strongly recommend saving your contacts to your Google account, since they automatically sync to the cloud, and can be accessed from any device that's logged into your Google account.
