Why does my phone say call volume when I am not in a call.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and it says " call volume " when I try to use the volume buttons. And now in cannot use ear buds because of it.

Welcome to Android Central! Usually, if there's no media actively playing, the Volume button will control the Ringtone volume. Does it actually say Call Volume in the volume slider, or is it an icon?

What do you mean you can't use earbuds? Are you saying that when you plug in earbuds, sound doesn't come through? Have you tried other earbuds?
