The Camera folder isn't displaying all my photos on my laptop ?

AC Question

I'm trying to copy all my photos from my Nexus 7 (2 gen) Tablet to my Laptop through a usb cable. The problem is that when I open the Internal Storage -> DCIM -> Camera folder on my laptop it displays 363 pictures but when I open the Photos App on my Tablet it displays 3,670 pictures ? Why the difference ?

Welcome to Android Central! You're opening the Google Photos app on the tablet? Are you sure all 3670 pictures are locally saved? The main Google Photos screen shows all photos, both locally saved and those that are in your Google Photos in the cloud.

In the Google Photos app, tap Menu>Device Folders, and then Camera. How many photos are there?

In Windows Explorer, turn on the Show Hidden Files/Folders option. I'm not sure why any of the photos might be considered hidden, but try it anyway.

Monday, I will have access to an internet with unlimited bandwidth.

Is there a way I could transfer the pictures & films to my gmail account and then download to my laptop instead of using AirDroid ?
