How to Unmount Corrupted microSD Card

I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 running Nougat. Just recently, my microSD card suddenly got corrupted. I want to unmount it so I can put it in my computer to see if it can read it, but there isn't an option in my phone's storage settings that let's me unmount it (it says that it's corrupted, but doesn't have the unmount option). What do I do? Do I just remove the card manually with the card tray remover, without doing anything beforehand?

Power off the phone. This will unmount every mountable device in it.
Remove the back.
Remove the SD card.
