I needed to root my Moto X (2013) XT1060, Android 5.1 phone to be able to recover some important deleted videos and photos. I found what looked to be some great instructions on a 3-29-2016 post on theunlockr.com. The problem is that I missed the "Before You Begin" instructions and did not flash the phone with the ROM before starting. I followed the rooting instructions and got down to Step 9, and my phone had gone black as Step 9 said it would. The problem is that none of the other steps worked after that. Windows now identifies the phone as an "Unknown Device," the screen is still black, and the phone won't fast boot or do any boot. I tried to flash the ROM on the phone with RSD Lite v.6.1.5 (the step I accidentally skipped). Any ideas on how I get back on track without ruining the ability to recover the deleted videos and photos? I care more about the deleted data than I do the phone.
