How to get rid of the min media volume limit when im in a call?

When im in a call, the media doesnt seem to allow me to play music/videos in a very small volume (I'd say 10-30% on the volume bar) when i play it in a low volume it seems to cancel out the quiet sounds of the video im playing. For example, im in a skype call with someone doing a group project on the phone and with a headphone on and im trying to play some quiet study music on my phone, but because of the cancellation i cant hear the music unless its like 50%. Which is very frustrating.
