Phone recommendation for GPS spoofing?

Hi, since last software update I've been unable to spoof GPS on my LG G4, either with Fake GPS go of Fly GPS. I'm not so keen on rooting my main phone either, I'd rather buy a used one for that sole purpose. Would anyone recommend me an old phone model that would work well (with rooting or not) for spoofing and wouldn't be to expensive? I also have an Acer Z520, is it possible to use this one? I never succeeded cause you can't select a mock location app in the settings. Thank you.
