Why explanation mark beside wifi

Usually that shows that you're not connected to the wifi you chose, or that your WiFi isn't working. I had to buy a new router because mine was working erratically. My wifi indicator showed up with an exclamation mark. I would initially be able to unplug the router, wait a minute and then plug it back in. The wifi would then be able to be reconnected. Then it failed completely and I had to buy a new router. Try unplugging like I did, see if it fixes it. I hope this helps!
