Separating Picture from Text in a Message?

I had the galaxy S6 E and was always able to share a image or picture via text and add some comment with it. Sent my first attachment through the galaxy asked eight today and it told me that pictures and text will be delivered separately. Is this something that came out in the S7? Kind of annoying because I hate it when I get a bunch of text messages when they can all be combined into one. This is a setting on the device or is this something that has to do with AT&T or is it now going to be the standard? May be sending higher resolution pictures will take up more data and so it allows you to send better pictures without using up room with text messages. Thanks.

Hi Kyle, welcome to the forums!
I had a few goes at sending mms with text embedded, but they end up separated.
Not sure if this is a Samsung thing or a Nougat thing. I can do it on whatsap...
Maybe they want to keep the integrity of the image?
