Switching a Verizon Samsung S7 to Cricket wireless

I switched to Cricket wireless because i could save over $180 a month and Verizon was going to shut us off because we had to do bankruptcy. So anyway i was told my 2 S7's and 1 iphone 7 wouldn't work for cricket and we would have to buy new phones. We ended up trading the 2 s7 and a couple old iphone 5s or 5c to cover the cost of the phones. So basically i wanted to know if we got screwed or are they right about our phones not working on their network?

I just switched a couple of weeks ago. I brought my Verizon S7 and works fine with Cricket. I even get 4GLTE in most areas (live in the SF Bay Area)
