Making a contact a favorite

Does anybody know what to do if on your text messages and then you cook them the card up at the top two if you if there's no star there do you know how to make him a contact cuz mine doesn't have a star to make them one and I made other people favorite since and nobody else is showing up so if anybody knows post something on it because I can't make my my best friend a favorite and I need her to be a favorite to add her a contact those picture so thank you
