Galaxy Tab A - factory reset with NO samsung account? Can it be done?

AC Question

The device keeps asking me for a 'login & passwrd' for my SAMSUNG account- which I have NEVER had. Any thoughts / suggestions? I simply was to wipe it out and start over. This is a by-product of the damn thing trying to update the firmware repeatedly over the last 6 weeks... and on continously failing. Samsung, as you can guess, has been NO help.

That will do you no good, on boot up the device will go to Samsung and it will ask for the account login again...
That said, I'm not logged into it either and my phone is working fine. I have all that Samsung stuff blocked with firewall....
Where are you trying to update the software from?
