Is there a way to fix 7.0 cosmetic updates?

My biggest frustration is the fact that opening a folder on my homescreen now opens a whole new window that scrolls sideways, and stays open until I physically close it after I am done using the app I selected. I want the old folders back. I also wouldn't mind having my old pull down menu back, either (easier to adjust brightness).

Welcome to the forums. Something like this is pretty deep in the ROM and most likely can't be fixed without rewriting the whole thing. What device do you have?

As for pulling the menu down, try using 2 fingers. That will bring you to quick toggles, and if your brightness slider is there, it will come up too.
