restore contacts after a factory reset

had to do a factory reset because google play services was not working, lost all phone numbers, contacts, photos, everything. can i recover anything?

Did you have anything backed up? If you had your phone set up for it all of that backs up to Google and would come back by logging into your Google account when you set it up again. If nothing came back it probably wasn't backed up.

Does your carrier offer cloud storage or backups?

Personally I've got that stuff backed up to 2 sources, doesn't cost anything so why not.
