The instructions provided for the Moto X Play do not seem to apply to the Moto Z Force. Do not see the same features.

Can see a root XT1650 folder on the PC Win 10 My Computer screen - but no file folders appear when the root XT1650 is clicked.
PC is a Panasonic Notepad Toughbook CF-C3.
Have three USB ports - 2 fast and 1 older. Tried all three.
Downloaded the Motorola Device Manager D
Files. Installed the .exe file.
Cable is a USB-2 cable purchased from Verizon with the Moto Z Force. Tried several USC-2 cables. Same result.
Verizon store personnel could not make this work either.
