why do my apps freeze when i open them with my wifi turned on?

My phone is samsung galaxy s3 android v is 4.4.4 my phones app freeze when i turn them on with my wifi on when i open whatsapp or any other app it freezes(when wifi turned on)but doesnt freeze when wifi is turned off and internet is all right all the time i can use the browser anytime.even when im checking the ram or active applications if the wifi is on that also freezes but when apps freeze the status bar pops up and the status bar works ok and i can slide it up and down but it doesnt disappear.
