Moto G3 major battery drain and is hot

A

AC Question

My Moto G3 on Android 6.0 Marshmellow has historically been great with the battery ending the day at near 45% remaining. Starting a few weeks ago, it barely makes the day. I haven't installed any apps or gone through a system upgrade. I also recently stopped checking the news on my phone so I pull it open less now. Reading other instructions, I cleared the main cache today but that doesn't seem to have helped. The battery usage information reads as follows:
30% Android System
9% Cell Standby
8% Screen
5% Voice Calls
5% T-Mobile My Account
And the rest are 7 other things under 4%
Also, the phone feels hotter than I remember it. The back and the front.
Any way I can run a tool or something to find the source of the drain?

Welcome to Android Central! Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

Also try wiping the cache partition: https://motorola-mobility-en-in.cus...prod_answer_detail/a_id/105656/p/30,6720,9390
